The Fujitsu Planetarium at De Anza College is the largest school Planetarium west of the Rocky Mountains and since our recent renovation, the Fujitsu Planetarium is one of the most modern Planetariums in the world.

The Planetarium is shared by the College Astronomy and Community Education Departments. When used as a classroom, it serves over 2700 college students per year. The Astronomy program at De Anza is the largest in the California State Community College System.

Community Education oversees the school field trips to the planetarium and weekend public shows as well as many special events. About 30,000 community members, including students from
pre-school through high school, attend these shows and events every year.

Planetarium public Astronomy Shows are presented at 5:00, 6:00 and 7:30 p.m. most Saturdays. We have a wide variety of Astronomy shows for the whole family to enjoy. All of our programs include live segments, where our knowledgeable presenters interact with the audience on a tour of the night sky and more.

The Laser Light Shows are presented after the astronomy programs, at 9:00 and 10:00 p.m. Laser shows are a fantastic display of laser light drawn images paired with a variety of music. To see our current show schedule click the laser light show page.

Planetarium Field Trips for schools and other groups are presented Monday through Friday - for more information and available times check our field trip page. Field trips to the Planetarium are quite popular, please schedule early!

The Planetarium is also available for special events such as birthday parties, anniversaries, corporate events and more. Special events are usually scheduled Friday evenings and Saturdays before our public programming. Contact the Planetarium office for more information.
