FUJITSU PLANETARIUM RENTAL INFORMATION AND FEES

The FUJITSU Planetarium at De Anza College is one of the largest school planetariums in the country. It can provide you with a unique and unusual setting for a birthday party, wedding ceremony, anniversary celebration, holiday gathering, corporate sales presentation or meeting. Frequently asked questions regarding renting the Planetarium.

BIRTHDAY PARTIES

LITTLE DIPPER (Ursa Minor)  $350
Rental Includes:
Private use of Planetarium Facility
One Full Dome Digital Star Show of your choice (Laser shows available for an additional fee)
Constellation and tour of the night sky

(Rental use is for 1 1/2 hours and allows enough time for guests to arrive and view show)

BIG DIPPER (Ursa Major) $ 450
Rental Includes:
Everything in “Little Dipper” plus
Lobby use and set up with tables and chairs for 30 people - Party host is responsible for food, cake, beverages, decorations and clean up.

(Rental use is for 3 hours and allows enough time for guests to arrive, view show and have cake, food and beverages)

WEDDINGS & ANNIVERSARIES
$ 400/hr -3 hour minimum; $ 150 per hr thereafter (up to 140 people)

Includes:
Private use of Planetarium Facility for Ceremony and/or Reception
Playtime of your favorite music
Video or slide show of couple
Lobby area set-up for buffet and non-alcoholic beverage service

(Planetarium can seat up to 140 people inside auditorium. Lobby set up consists of up to 3 tables for food and approximately 35 chairs. Party host is responsible for providing music CD’s, picture slides and/or video, food, beverages, decorations and clean-up, if event is catered a licensed catered must be used)

CORPORATE GROUPS $ 400/hr  (up to 140 people)

Includes:
Private use of Planetarium Facility
One Full Dome Digital Star Show of your choice (Laser shows available for an additional fee)
Use of planetarium equipment for presentation
Lobby area set-up for buffet and/or non-alcoholic beverage service

(Client must provide materials for meeting or presentation and must meet with Director at least a week in advance. Party host is responsible for food and non-alcoholic beverages and clean up)

 

Deposits and Fees

A deposit of 50% of the rental fee is required to reserve the Planetarium; and will be applied towards your rental fee. In addition there is a $100.00 cleaning fee that is refundable within 2 weeks of your event, if the Planetarium is left as it was found. If trash such as paper cups, plates, wrapping paper, balloons, etc., is left in lobby, your cleaning fee deposit will be forfeited.

Parking

The De Anza College Campus Safety and Security department requires that all cars parked on campus display a proper parking permit. You may purchase these permits the day of your event from the parking meters located under the light standards in all student lots. The cost is $2.00 per permit.

Cancellations

In order to receive your deposit back in the event of a cancellation, you must notify the Planetarium staff at least seven business days in advance. We will accept notification in writing, by fax at 408/864-5643 or by mail:

Rules and Regulations

Alcohol is not allowed at De Anza College Campus and Planetarium Facility.
Smoking allowed on designated areas only.
